Re: Curl Licensing question Nov 7, 2007 9:12 AM
Hi Ganesh,
As part of our Open Source offering we are making available a free deployment license that allows commercial use . This license is applies only to Internet based applications that are available as public URLs. We are in the process of updating our documentation to reflect this change. This new commercial use deployment license used to be called the Curl Personal Server License. I apologize for this confusion.
You must attain this deployment license to run your application.
You can apply for this license here. The license you see there, however, does not reflect this change but will be updated shortly.
Our Open Source strategy is to contribute all the software components that are above the RTE to Open Source. These components are aimed at making the implementation of Curl applications easier. Today these components include the WSDK, CDK and CDU and are hosted on Sourceforge.
At this time we do not have plans to Open Source the IDE. We do however offer a free version of the IDE to support the Open Source community. Also we are working on providing the IDE as an Eclipse plugin.
